CultureFEST 2004
follows on from the overwhelming success of CultureFEST 2001, which featured performances by
Oja Rhythms and ICSNs Dance and
drama group and included guest appearances from:
CultureFEST organisers, ICSN were inspired to put on the event by the need to raise awareness of
heritage within the community.
The group aimed to promote understanding and responsibility toward
the long-term survival and development of Nigeria and to support major fund-raising projects.
However, since inception, the focus for CultureFEST has grown into a celebration of diversity,
dynamism and excellence of all things black also.
CultureFEST 2001 was a way of Igbo Cultural and Support Network informing the wider community
of who we are as a group and bringing together people to celebrate our culture;
Especially to people who felt that they were being excluded from main stream black and ethnic events taking place within
the black history month.
The Igbo Cultural and Support network are proud to be showcasing an even bigger event, which was
attended by over 1000+ people in 2001 for now I can say that we look forward to seeing you there.
A Black History month event, CultureFEST takes place on Saturday 23rd October at the
Novotel Hotel Hammersmith London.
